Cyclotron

A cyclotron is one of the earliest types of particle accelerators. Cyclotrons accelerate charged particles using a high-frequency, alternating voltage. A perpendicular magnetic field causes the particles to spiral so that they can re-enter the electric field and get accelerated many times.
