Running the Molecular Workbench with more memory allocation

The default maximum memory allocated to the Molecular Workbench (MW) is 64MB, which is sufficient in most cases. If you would like to increase the memory allocation (so that you can simulate more objects with a longer recording period), please follow the instructions below.

Warning:

If you are authoring a model or activity that is to be used by end users, please do not use any of the options below, in order to make sure that all your end users will see the same effect. The instructions on this page are only for those advanced users who want to make use of MW's full power.

You must have downloaded mw.jar to your computer. Open a DOS Window on Windows or a terminal on Mac OS X or Linux, change to the directory where the downloaded file "mw.jar" is located, and type in one of the following commands (enclosed in the quotes):

Do not just double-click on "mw.jar". If you do so, MW will be allocated the default maximum memory (64MB).
